Date(s) - Wed Jul 12 2017
10:00 am - 3:15 pm
In order to combat both the undereducation and underpayment of queer youth, Bay Area Youth Summit will hold a pay-what-you-can summer class, taught by queer youth for other queer youth. This class will give youth aged 25 and under the opportunity to do paid work in the education field, and to share their knowledge with their peers. It will also give queer youth of all ages the opportunity to engage with relevant material otherwise not taught in schools.
The purpose of the BAYS Summer Class 2017 (“Queers Teach Their Peers”) is to give youth in the queer community the opportunity to get paid to educate their peers, while giving other queer youth the opportunity to extend their academic pursuits outside of the classroom, at little or no cost.
